TOYOTA DIESEL HILUX 4x4 TRUCK

Outback Imports receives numerous enquiries every week about the venerable Toyota Hilux pick-up truck. These trucks have a somewhat larger-than-life reputation throughout the World, and as a result are highly sought after in markets where they  were not readily available, were not part of the manufacturer's offerings, or offered in very limited numbers - as was the case with the North American market. 

Since the supply was fairly limited over here, and the last of the Hilux trucks were mostly powered by gasoline engines and had Independent Front Suspension, the solid axle 3L diesel powered Hilux has become a dream truck for many enthusiasts. Unfortunately, the Hilux is also highly sought after in the very markets that Outback Imports buys from; as such there are very few available in acceptable condition, and the supply/demand economics of it dictate that prices are going to be high - and that is exactly the case. 

If you would like to own one of these trucks, given the current state of the market, you will be looking at purchase price of no less than $24,000 CAD (plus applicable taxes, insurance, licensing fees, etc.) and probably quite a bit more in most cases. They are also quite uncommon to come across at the auctions in good shape, so the waiting time may easily extend into several months - so be very prepared to wait. 

So, where does this leave you? Have look around in the local markets - because you may just find what you're looking for locally at a more reasonable price point.
