questions, feel free to email

Why
an Outback Truck or Wagon?
A: We love top quality trucks! We also take pride in
offering value, quality and innovation for your money while having a
fun experience. In keeping with this philosophy, we strive to purchase
carefully while ensuring our vehicles get an extremely thorough inspection
and preparation program to reduce the risk of surprises later on. back

Why
Right Hand Drive (RHD) vehicle?!?
A: While Left Hand Drive (LHD) versions of model we import are common
in most of Europe, Africa and other continents, the benefits of lower
mileage, rust-free, and rarely off-roaded RHD Asian vehicles outweigh
the LHD option from other markets. Buying from Asia direct enables
us to take advantage of more favourable pricing structures and deliver
cars to Canadian customers at a substantially better value when compared
to Canadian model pricing and condition. back

Does
your truck come with a warranty?
A: YES! All Outback vehicles are covered for 30 days by the Extensive Coverage Outback Warranty Plan (OWP). Additional coverage can be purchased for one year/20,000 kms. (see ‘Outback Warranty Plan or OWP’ section)
Before being released to you, ALL our trucks receive a comprehensive checkover
(see ‘Outback Service Package or OSP’ section).
We strive to supply premium, fully serviced vehicles, and therefore
do our best to ensure your truck is within full factory set operating
parameters. Our 30 day warranty allows us the opportunity to correct any item that may not have been addressed fully during the OSP.

Are
the listed prices negotiable?
A: No. All our trucks are priced as low as we possibly can and we don't
have the large margins that dealers have which enable them to knock a
few more dollars off on the deal. We believe our customers prefer this
approach.
There are no hidden taxes or service charges, you know exactly how much
you will pay for your truck. If you really enjoy the thrill of haggling,
we would suggest you still buy from us and just use some of the money
you save for a trip to the bazaars of Bombay. back

When
considering the Outback Service Package (OSP) is included, your price is often several
thousands less than from other importers. How do you manage to supply
the trucks at this price and what services will I be sacrificing?
A: We have a dedicated team of buyers throughout Japan, all with several
years of motor industry experience who continually seek out the best
deals. This coupled with our massive buying and shipping power enables
us to provide vehicles at a very good value.
In terms of services, we go well above and beyond the factory recommended
maintenance checks and parts/fluid servicing for all mileage intervals (see ‘Outback Service Package or OSP’ section). Although, admittedly, you won’t get a bunch of
free flowers on the front seat. back

Are
there any extra costs I need to pay?
The price shown is the price you'll pay for the truck or car. All you
need to pay extra is the Provincial Tax (if applicable) and associated
registration costs to your Motor Vehicle Branch. ANY, mechanical component
that is not up to spec is replaced at OUR cost (i.e. brakes, clutch,
oil seals). Four New Yokohama tires are also included in the purchase price. back

Can
I have immediate truck delivery upon it’s landing in Canada?
A: Once the vehicle has been posted as ‘landed’ on the shipping
status section of our website, it has been unloaded from the ship's
belly. It will take approximately another 2 weeks to clear all Federal
import inspections and our Outback Service Package (OSP) before you can take delivery. We
will notify you during the Prep Pack stage with a completion schedule.
If you can't wait… there is a fantastic French Patisserie/Café
a block away that will gladly have your business while you watch us
run around…. back

How
long will I have to wait for my truck/wagon if I special order?
A: Give yourself up to 4 months from your vehicle order date to landing
and being ready for pickup in Vancouver, B.C. Fulfilling your order
with a quality and value priced vehicle takes time as does the shipping
stage to Canada. back to

Once
purchased in Japan, can you provide me with an exact date that I will
have my vehicle?
A: While we have very good shipping power, used cars ALL have second
priority to new cars on ships. Therefore, we can only estimate arrival
dates until the vehicle is actually on the water and en route to Canada.

Can
I still have my car serviced at a franchised dealer?
A: The models we import share a degree of common components with Canadian
equivalent body styles. While some dealers are reluctant to take on
import trucks for their own reasons, any competent mechanic can tackle
maintenance and repairs. back

What
about getting parts?
A: Between franchised dealer and aftermarket parts suppliers, we have
found a good supply of cross-referenced parts in Canada. 4Wheel Auto
Wholesale in Edmonton, Alberta, is Canada's largest supplier of exotic
parts for any Asian 4x4 import. Check them out at: www.4wheelauto.com.

Is
it legal to drive and own a RHD vehicle in Canada?
A: YES, there is presently no Federal, Provincial nor Territorial law
against owning and operating a RHD vehicle on public roads within Canada.

Is
it confusing to drive a Right Hand Drive (RHD) vehicle?
A: There are pros and cons of having a RHD on the ‘right’
side of the road: parallel parking is easier, making new friends at stop
lamps, while going through the drive through window is different…
Some local folks actually like RHD better. However, most people easily
familiarize themselves and become comfortable with this set up within
a couple of weeks of driving. The biggest challenge most face is getting
into the correct side of the vehicle when parked. The very large factory
convex mirrors (also electrically adjustable) make passing and blind
spot checking a breeze. All pedal layout and stick shift pattern are
identical as LHD. back

Is
it safe to drive a RHD vehicle?
A: Yes, if you take the same precautions that you do driving any motorized
vehicle. back to top
How
can I protect my now rust-free vehicle from
corroding?
A: With the ever increasing corrosives thrown on northern roads, this
issue will not soon go away. There are many ways to help protect the
integrity of a vehicle's bodywork. From regularly washing the corrosive
chemicals/mud/dirt off to coating the potential abraded/chipped areas
with bed liner coatings and large mud flaps, regularly rust checking
interior body channels and keeping the drains clog free. back
